Different Trigger Types

Each trigger type serves a specific purpose. Make sure to understand each type, so you can use them to their full potential. The different types are located in the Trigger when drop-down menu.


Answered Question in a Question Card


This type will add or remove a connection when a user answers any question on a Question Card. It does not matter if the answer is correct or incorrect, the connection will be triggered upon the answer to any question.


Features

  • Search for question card: This provides you the option of how you would like to find the specific card to place the trigger on. 
  • Deck: Search for the Deck by its title, you will then need to choose the Card in that Deck.
  • Card: Search for the Card that will have the trigger on it by its title. 
  • Answer to Activate Trigger: Choose the answer from a drop-down menu. This option populates once you choose a Card. You can choose a specific answer from the Card, or choose "any answer".
  • Action to perform: This is how you decide to Add or Remove content using the Trigger Connection.
  • Connection: Choose the Trigger Connection.

Answered all questions in a This or That Card

This option triggers a connection once a user has finished answering all of the questions offered on a This That Card type.


Features

  • Card: Search for the Card that will have the trigger on it by its title.
  • Answer to Activate Trigger: Choose the answer from a drop-down menu. This option populates once you choose a Card. You can choose a specific answer from the Card, or choose "any answer".
  • Action to perform: This is how you decide to Add or Remove content using the Trigger Connection.
  • Connection: Choose the Trigger Connection.


Answered a Likert question

A connection will be triggered after the user clicks submit on a Likert Card.


Features

  • Card: Search for the Card that will have the trigger on it by its title.
  • Answer to Activate Trigger: Choose the answer from a drop-down menu. This option populates once you choose a Card. You can choose a specific answer from the Card, or choose "any answer".
  • Action to perform: This is how you decide to Add or Remove content using the Trigger Connection.
  • Connection: Choose the Trigger Connection.


All Assessments complete

This option will trigger a connection only after all Assessment Decks in a Deck Line have been completed by the user. 


Features

  • Connection: Search for the connection that is placed on the Assessment Decks.
  • Answer to Activate Trigger: Choose the answer from a drop-down menu. This option populates once you choose a Card. You can choose a specific answer from the Card, or choose "any answer".
  • Action to perform: This is how you decide to Add or Remove content using the Trigger Connection.
  • Connection: Choose the Trigger Connection.

Button Pressed

This is a very unique trigger type. Once you create it, you will need to add the actual trigger button on the back of your Card. This is located in the WYSIWYG, it is the bullseye icon.


Features

  • Action to perform: This is how you decide to Add or Remove content using the Trigger Connection.
  • Connection: Choose the Trigger Connection.


Once you have created the button press trigger, you will need to locate the card you want it to live on, and click the bullseye icon in the WYSIWYG. This will bring up a modal where you can add the trigger you just created. Now when a user clicks the button, it launches the trigger. 

Modal Features

  • Button text: Provide your button with descriptive text. The best practice is to be concise.
  • Trigger: Choose the trigger that you have created. Here is a good example as to why being unique and descriptive with your trigger titles is important. Imagine trying to choose from a list of triggers all titled the same


Finished Video

This option will trigger a connection once a user has finished watching the full video from a specific Video Card.

Features

  • Card: Search for the Card that will have the trigger on it by its title.
  • Action to perform: This is how you decide to Add or Remove content using the Trigger Connection.
  • Connection: Choose the Trigger Connection.

Finished all videos in a Deck

The connection will be triggered only after a user has finished watching all Video Cards within a specific Deck.

Features

  • Deck: Search for the Deck by its title, you will then need to choose the Card in that Deck.
  • Action to perform: This is how you decide to Add or Remove content using the Trigger Connection.
  • Connection: Choose the Trigger Connection.
